Part Time Night Support Worker

Working two 12-hour night shifts per week, Sunday and Monday nights.

Our Noddfa Hostel in Colwyn Bay provides temporary supported housing accommodation to vulnerable people, creating support plans based on individual needs whilst helping them to find somewhere more permanent to live.

The Role – Part Time Night Support Worker

You will be ensuring the safety of the Hostel and its residents during the night time hours, responding to any incidents or emergences as and when they occur. Your duties will include:

• Carrying out regular security and fire safety checks of the building throughout the night
• Engaging with residents throughout the night, safeguarding their physical and emotional health and wellbeing
• Responding to any incidents, and keeping accurate resident records as required including handover files, shift records etc.
• Reporting to the daytime colleagues at handover
• Ensuring housekeeping and cleaning tasks are regularly carried out
• Attending meetings in daytime hours with notice e.g. Teams meetings, training etc.

Our Requirements – Part Time Night Support Worker

• Experience gained within a care / support environment or similar
• Ability to be courteous and able to pronounce place names accurately in Welsh
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• An awareness of the support needs of vulnerable people with the ability to work alone with confidence and good judgement
• An ability to understand the need to work in a confidential manner and stay within professional boundaries
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
