National Account Manager – Working from home, with site visits to customers and the office

With a rich history dating back to 1938, South Caernarfon Creameries is one of Wales’ main cheese production and cheese packaging companies, supplying to well-known supermarket brands such as Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi. With a workforce of 160 employees and a turnover level of £60 million, we are developing at significant pace.

An ambitious 5-year growth plan is underway, which will see production levels increasing, employee numbers growing, and the ability to deliver services to a wider customer base. Heavy investment has been high on the agenda in recent years, with significant investment focused on a brand-new production plant and high-tech machinery. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, as the National Account Manager your focus will be on increasing sales of existing and new products, with both existing and new customers, across various sales channels. You will achieve this by:

  • Managing the day-to-day requirements of the agreed customer portfolio
  • Developing new opportunities in line with the business’s sales strategy
  • Building strong relationships within selected retail and b2b accounts with the aim of developing existing volume and NPD
  • Agreeing clear business plans with key accounts
  • Working closely with the NPD and Marketing team to deliver relevant NPD opportunities to our customers
  • Liaising with Production, Technical and Planning departments to scope out new listings; promotions etc
  • Providing monthly sales reports on accounts
  • Ensuring able to demonstrate a sound understanding of what is happening at customer and market level
  • Participating in show attendance and support as and when required

The Package

As the National Account Manager, you’ll benefit from:

  • Permanent contract, working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm

You’ll be working from home with site visits to customers, and attendance in the office as required

Our Requirements

  • Proven experience within sales / business development, gained within either a B2B or retail business, ideally in the cheese/dairy industry but not essential
  • Results orientated, with good commercial awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive, self-disciplined, and well-motivated
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Flexible and creative
  • Computer literate
  • Full UK driving licence
