Area Housing Maintenance Officer (Housing / Construction) – x2 permanent opportunities available.

Grŵp Cynefin is the only housing association with homes in each of the six counties of North Wales and North Powys. The Area Housing Maintenance Officer role

As an Area Housing Maintenance Officer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining responsive and planned maintenance works across our homes within the East region of North Wales. You’ll be delegated your own area, which will either be Wrexham or Flintshire, ensuring that the quality of works completed is to a satisfactory standard. Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Responding promptly to requests for work, adaptations and cases of dissatisfaction from tenants and partners, visiting properties to determine the best solution
  • Carrying out property conditioning checks
  • Examining maintenance works in your designated area, including repair, replacement and improvements
  • Working with Housing Officers in cases of re-letting, transferring or exchanging properties
  • Procuring work from contractors from the approved contractors list and inspecting work
  • Undertaking regular inspections of internal and external community spaces
  • Supporting the on-call service in an emergency

What will I need to be considered for this Area Housing Maintenance Officer vacancy?

  • Proven experience in a similar role gained within the housing or construction sector, including experience of preparing detailed maintenance schedules
  • General property building knowledge to provide and deliver technical surveying support to the Maintenance Team
  • Qualified to a minimum of BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in construction or engineering services
  • Ability to speak and understand basic Welsh
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

What will I receive in return?

As an Area Maintenance Officer, you’ll receive:

  • A salary of £24,771 to £27,879 per annum (postholder will commence at the bottom of the scale)
  • 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Essential mileage allowance
  • Pension scheme

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 35 hours per week within Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to meet work demands.

Location: Travelling across customer sites in either Wrexham or Flintshire (North Wales).
