Financial Controller

What will this role of Financial Controller entail?

As the Financial Controller, you’ll supervise the Accounts team at Holyhead and oversee the accounts operation for the wider group. Your duties will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Preparing regular reports analysing and interpreting financial performance, developing appropriate performance indicators to improve where required
  • Planning, preparing and reviewing budgets, including the annual budget, business plan and other statistical / statutory information
  • Completing bank reconciliations, reviews and cash flow consolidation of all accounts and process flows
  • Managing credit control and debt levels, monitoring risk
  • Authorising payroll, and performing quarterly VAT returns

You’ll also take the lead on monthly reporting on summary management and overheads for cost centres, as well as reviewing and overseeing operations management accounts and creditor reconciliations.

What will I need to be considered for this Financial Controller vacancy?

  • Solid accounting experience in a similar role. Those qualified by experience will be considered, however it would be highly desirable to have a full professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA
  • Demonstrable experience of applying sound financial management techniques and providing proactive support for initiatives
  • Experienced advising on reported results and making recommendations for corrective actions
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and have excellent team management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

What will I receive in return?

As the Financial Controller, you’ll receive a salary of £35,000 to £42,000, level dependent on experience. You’ll be part of a growing business working as part of a professional team, where your efforts and contribution will be recognised and rewarded.

You’ll also receive 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising by one day per year of service up to 25 days, pension scheme, death in service cover, and eye wear entitlement.

Contract: Permanent, working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business and customers.

Location: Holyhead (Anglesey, North Wales)
