Marketing Officer

What will the role of Marketing Officer entail?

As the Marketing Officer, you’ll work closely alongside a team of approximately 8 colleagues whilst also being given the autonomy to take responsibility for executing a marketing strategy designed to broaden the scope and reach of Scanwel into new sectors, as well as raising awareness of the company and its range of products to existing and prospective clients.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Taking control of the marketing calendar and annual marketing budget
  • Writing engaging copy such as case studies, testimonials and email campaigns
  • Updating social media channels and website content
  • Liaising with external marketing agencies when required for additional support
  • Planning exhibitions and attending relevant networking events

What will I need to be considered for this Marketing Officer vacancy?

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Executive, Marketing Officer or Marketing Manager, ideally gained within the Engineering sector
  • Experience and knowledge of Google Adwords, Google Analytics and SEO
  • Ability to grasp technical information in relation to products and market the benefits effectively
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to use computer graphics software and Wordpress
  • Excellent literacy and copywriting skills, with proven ability to write engaging content
  • Strong understanding of social media channels in relation to marketing practices
  • Ability to analyse data and use the data to inform future marketing decisions
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence

Although not essential, proven experience of web development and Magento 2 would be advantageous for this role.

What will I receive in return?

As the Marketing Officer, you’ll receive a salary between £25,000 to £30,000 level dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension scheme, death in service cover, free car parking and an early finish on Fridays.

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 39 hours per week (although flexibility will be required to meet business needs), Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm, and Friday 8am to 3:30pm. Flexibility with start and finish times to accommodate personal commitments can be discussed during interview for the right candidate.

Location: You can choose to either be based permanently from the head office on the Bala Enterprise Park (Gwynedd, North Wales), or you can choose to combine office working with some home working each week, but you will be required to be based from the office initially as you learn about the company, and for at least two days per week ongoing. The office has excellent road links for commute from Wrexham, Oswestry, St Asaph, Llanrwst, Bangor, Mold and Chester.
