Gamlins Law is North Wales’ leading law firm for commercial and personal legal services. Our over 80 strong team operates from 6 offices across the region, and we see ourselves as trusted advisors to all our corporate and private clients, whether we are preparing a will, buying a home for them, handling a multi-million-pound medical negligence claim or helping them to sell their company.

Our Employment Department has recently experienced a period of significant growth, and we are looking to add to our highly knowledgeable team with this exciting opportunity for an Employment Law Solicitor to join our firm, which has recently transformed from being a traditional high street firm into a regional powerhouse.

This Employment Law Paralegal / Newly Qualified Solicitor Role

Our Employment Department is predominantly respondent based (75% respondent work, 25% claimant work), advising national and international clients from start-ups to PLC level, including a number of household names. We represent both employers and employees and are able to offer workable solutions to the entire range of employment law matters.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Running your own basic case files including tribunal claims
  • Advising under supervision in relation to basic employment queries
  • Drafting contracts of employment, policies, and employment documentation
  • Undertaking department administration including billing, file maintenance and archiving

You will be working as part of the Gamlins Law Employment Team, although you will also be advising and working with the team leading our HR Anchor arm, which has a clear growth plan and vision to become the leading provider of HR-related services across North Wales and North West England.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Employment Law Paralegal / Newly Qualified Solicitor role?

  • Have either a Law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law, have completed the LPC, or have a degree level education with a foundation of experience in employment law
  • Solid understanding in basic areas of employment law, particularly unfair dismissal
  • Desire to work hard and enhance skills and develop within the role

The Package

As an Employment Law Paralegal / Newly Qualified Solicitor, you’ll join a forward-thinking and friendly firm, where your career development and progression will be fully supported, and where you’ll be encouraged to have a voice and bring fresh ideas to the table.

You will receive:

  • A starting salary in the region of £18,000 to £28,000 with the level dependent on experience and qualifications
  • Option to join our pension scheme
  • Westfield Health Plan

You will be employed on a permanent contract, with full time hours Monday to Friday and the option to work flexibly.

Consideration will be given to those applicants who would prefer part time hours.

You will have the option to work from home (although with occasional travel required to our Rhyl office), or you can choose to be based in the office full time.
