Housing Support Officer / Warden (Older Persons Housing)

Who will I be working with?

As an ambitious social enterprise North Wales Housing Association provides homes and delivers services to over 2,500 households across North Wales. The growing organisation employs around 200 people and is proud to be accredited with an ‘Investors in People’ award.

So, what will the role of Housing Support Officer / Warden entail?

As a Warden you’ll work under the general direction of the Housing Officer, acting as a link between the residents and the Association, providing an effective and efficient housing management service and enabling residents to enjoy an independent lifestyle, with your main duties to include although not be limited to;

  • Maintaining and administering a daily call system to residents, whether by personal visit or by use of the intercom
  • Ensuring that residents receive relevant services and advice so that their needs are met
  • Promoting resident engagement and developing an on-going programme of social activities for older people to benefit the scheme and wider community
  • Accurately maintaining resident and scheme records, assist residents with completion of benefit forms and taking receipts of guest room payments
  • Monitoring the cleaning and control the provision of the communal areas including gardens, lounge etc.
  • Assisting with interviewing prospective new residents and carrying out inductions of scheme

What will I need in order to be considered for this Housing Support Officer / Warden role?

  • Experience working within an older person’s service, with a passion for making a difference to local communities
  • Ability to hold everyday conversations in Welsh
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Good standard of education
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

A recognised professional qualification in Housing and/or Social Care, along with experience of tenant engagement and organising social activities would be highly advantageous, although not essential.

NWH is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of service users. This post requires an enhanced DBS disclosure.

What will I receive in return?

Salary: £18,280 per annum pro rata

Contracted hours: 17.5 hours per week. 09:00am – 12:30pm Monday to Friday

Location: Bangor, North Wales

Contract type: Permanent
