Dearboy Petcare is a brand-new manufacturer of high quality pet food, new to Wrexham. The business will be serving natural and nutritious pet food to pet owners in the UK and globally.
The Role – Accountant
Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure that accurate financial records are accurately maintained, with internal and statutory deadlines met, and insightful and timely reporting provided to enable effective business decision making.
Initially, you will set up the accounting system and processes, with ongoing varied responsibilities to include:
- Undertaking bookkeeping activities including sales and purchase leger processing
- Reconciling ledgers, bank account, and balance sheet
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Analysing and reporting on profit/margin
- Advising on the financial implications of business decisions
- Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure against defined budgets
- Managing cash flow and producing forecasts
- Monitoring capital expenditure and maintaining the fixed asset register
The Package
As the Accountant working at our brand-new manufacturing facility on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, you will benefit from:
- Permanent contract, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
- Starting salary in the region of £35,000 to £40,000 with the level dependent on experience and qualifications
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Our Requirements – Accountant
- Proven experience as an Accountant gained within a commercial business, preferably with the manufacturing sector
- Either qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA with post qualification experience in a similar role, or have significant experience gained as an Accountant
- Good technical accounting knowledge and a sound understanding of finance principles
- IT literate and experience of using accountancy software
- Excellent problem solving, critical analysis and organisational skills
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Strong professional communication skills
