Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician

Whether you have proven experience dealing with payroll within an accountancy practice, or perhaps you have recently completed an AAT course in college and you’re looking to kickstart your career in accountancy, this is a superb opportunity to join our proactive and friendly firm based in Llandudno, North Wales.

In addition to the more general accountancy services, we also assist clients with business development and specialist tax services.

We are looking for a Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician to join our team, where you’ll benefit from a supportive environment, and be given all the training you need to thrive in the role.

The Role – Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician

Reporting to the Managing Director, as the Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician you will enjoy a busy role where you will be responsible for processing and supporting the weekly and monthly payroll of approximately 60 client companies using Sage Payroll, with varying employee sizes.

Other duties will include uploading pension contributions to NEST and People’s Pension; completing furlough calculations and furlough claims on the government gateway on a monthly basis; quarterly VAT returns and CIS returns; supporting clients with their bookkeeping using Sage Line 50 and Sage Business Cloud; preparing of accounts for self-employed and limited companies, with full training provided where required.

For the right candidate, there will also be opportunity provided and fully funded by the business for you to study and work towards becoming ACCA qualified.

The Package

As the Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician, you’ll benefit from:

  • A salary in the region of £17,000 to £24,000, with the level dependent on experience and qualifications
  • 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Full training and support to complete professional qualifications
  • Permanent contract with full time hours, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Our Requirements – Payroll Administrator / Accounts Technician

  • Either have proven experience of dealing with payroll within a busy accountancy practice, or be AAT qualified (ideally Level 3 or above) and looking to progress a career in accountancy
  • IT literate, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail, with accurate and timely data entry skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously

Although not essential, proven experience with Sage Payroll, Sage Line 50 and/or Sage Business Cloud would be advantageous.
