Electric Vehicle Bus Service PCV Driver (T22 service based in Porthmadog)

We have an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of Wales Green Agenda, driving all new Electric Vehicles on routes between Porthmadog, Caernarfon and Blaenau Ffestiniog. You’ll be based at the new Porthmadog depot joining a brand-new team of drivers, with oversight by and support from the Llew Jones main depot in Llanrwst.

Our Company

Llew Jones Ltd is an ambitious family run business based in Llanrwst, operating a mixed fleet of coaches for a range of operators including National Express, Leger Shearings Group, Lochs and Glens, and PGL. We also support the local community by providing several local bus services, and rail replacement services for Transport for Wales, whilst catering for the various transport needs of the local schools, colleges, and private customers including the RGC.

As part of our expansion plans, we recently secured a 6-year contract with Gwynedd Local Authority in association with Traws Cymru, to provide the first ALL ELECTRIC bus service in North Wales – providing great job security for Drivers joining us on this route. 

We believe in ‘going the extra mile’ by providing a high-quality service and have in recent years won substantial national and local contracts.

The Role – Electric Vehicle Bus Service PCV Driver

As a Bus Service Driver, you can plan your life around a regular work rota, working the same routes daily with an opportunity to support the local community by connecting people and places and all in the most environmentally friendly way. The new Electric Vehicles provide a quiet, comfortable, reliable and environmentally friendly mode of transport as well as being a joy to drive. 

We’re looking forward to welcoming new drivers for this route from November / December 2023, and you will benefit from:

  • Permanent contract
  • Option of full time or part time hours
  • Anticipated annual earnings in the region of £30,000 per annum (based on full time hours)
  • Company uniform
  • Sign on bonus of £500 on successful completion of probation
  • Membership of the Transport Benevolent Fund
  • Government Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Opportunities for career progression (Driver Mentor scheme and/or Driver Supervisor for which we pay an enhanced rate)

Our Requirements

  • Hold a full UK driving licence, with the relevant Driver CPC qualification
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Friendly, helpful, and professional manner
  • Flexibility towards working days / hours
