Property Manager and Project Manager

Bodnant Estate, located in the Conwy valley, is a unique Estate steeped in a rich history with dramatic and tranquil landscapes. We own a number of cottages (some let to permanent residents and some as holiday lets), various commercial lets and farms, as well as the Hall at the heart of the Estate.

We are continually evolving and have ambitious plans to improve the management and maintenance of our various properties, including procedures for inspection, preventative maintenance, compliance etc. We also have quite an active property restoration programme.

These goals provide an exciting and challenging opportunity for a professional with solid experience of the building trade to manage these properties and the restoration projects, both efficiently and cost-effectively.

The Role

As the Property Manager and Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Cost-effective management of building projects (large or small) to renovate or repair properties
  • Setting up and managing a system for the regular inspection for all properties and related maintenance programme, to ensure adequate preventative maintenance of properties
  • Overseeing gardening or grounds work in the vicinity of the Hall (excluding National Trust areas), and certain properties where the responsibility for gardens rests with the Estate
  • Cost-effective engagement of contractors and purchase of building supplies
  • Management of building contractors, and a small in-house team of contractors
  • Dealing with property and project compliance issues

Our Requirements - Property Manager and Project Manager

  • Solid experience managing construction sites and/or contractors, perhaps gained as a Site Manager or Project Manager
  • Familiarity with building contractors and building suppliers, and able to negotiate the best deals
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Drive and enthusiasm, with the ability to work autonomously

The Package

  • Permanent contract with full time hours, working Monday to Friday. Although applications from candidates who would prefer to work 4 days per week will be considered
  • Salary in the region of £40,000 with the level dependent on experience
  • 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
