Legal Secretary (Conveyancing)

Garnett Williams Powell is a long-established, accredited legal firm, founded as Shirley Garnett Williams in 1959. The company amalgamated with Margaret Powell Solicitors to become Garnett Williams Powell in 2005 and was joined by Rushworth and Glyn Owen Solicitors in 2013. Now, the firm has 2 Partners and 12 employees consisting of a Licensed Conveyancer and 2 Solicitors along with an efficient and helpful Support Team.

With services covering conveyancing, wills and probate, landlord and tenant, lasting powers of attorney and court of protection, the firm prides itself on a high-quality service. Opting for the traditional face to face approach has seen the company benefit from repeat business and a continuously growing client base.

The Role – Legal Secretary (Conveyancing)

As a Legal Secretary you will provide high quality secretarial and administrative support to our small but busy team. Your duties will include although will not be limited to:

  • Liaising with clients by telephone and face to face in an efficient polite and professional manner
  • Carrying out audio typing for our Fee Earners, including preparation of documents and correspondence
  • Opening and closing files
  • Arranging client appointments
  • Actioning tasks on behalf of the Fee Earner
  • Scanning and copying documents

Our Requirements - Legal Secretary (Conveyancing)

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary within conveyancing
  • High level of attention to detail with accurate and timely audio typing skills
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Resilience under pressure

The Package

As a Legal Secretary, you’ll receive a salary in the region of £16,000 to £18,000 with the level dependent on experience. You’ll also benefit from 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, in addition to a week off for the Christmas shutdown, and a contributory pension scheme.

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 34 hours per week Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm, and Friday 9am to 4pm. The successful applicant will work from our office in Rhyl (Denbighshire).
