Learning and Development Manager

A superb opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development Manager to join a motivated and committed HR Team.

Rowan Foods is part of the Oscar Mayer Group, a UK-wide company specialising in manufacturing prepared foods for the top UK grocery retailers such as The Co-Operative, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Aldi. With three sites and approximately 3,500 employees, the company prides itself on a busy yet positive working environment, a culture of open communication, and a long-standing workforce – 60% of employees have given over 10 years of service.

With 1,300 employees, the Wrexham Industrial Estate site is a very fast-paced operation, with an impressive 2 million ready meals being produced each week.

The Learning and Development Manager role

Leading on all aspects of people development at the site in Wrexham, including development of succession planning and key talent development initiatives, you’ll work with stakeholders to understand their needs, designing various learning materials across a range of means and delivering to a range of audiences.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

  • Participating in developing and implementing approaches to enhance workforce skills
  • Undertaking learning and development initiatives to support the HR strategy
  • Designing and delivering performance development, business skills learning and development programmes
  • Ensuring onboarding processes are effective and are meeting business needs
  • Undertaking needs analysis, producing project plans, delivering training projects and initiatives for teams / departments as required
  • Participating fully in the activities of the wider HR Team and working closely with the Senior Management Team
  • Managing the Apprenticeship Levy

You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with some flexibility required to meet business needs.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Learning and Development Manager role?

  • Proven experience within a Learning and Development role, ideally gained within a heavily compliant environment such as food manufacturing
  • Confident in the delivery of internal training with a good understanding of all aspects of Learning and Development
  • Extremely well-organised, with ability to plan, manage and prioritise time effectively
  • Superb communication skills
