Away from the city

Abergele is in a great central location for North Wales. Nestled between the towns of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl you’re never more than a short drive from the amenities you need. It has excellent transport links, is just off the A55, and is close by to some of the bigger towns along the coast that make for good days out. If you don’t want to make a move, but have found a great job opportunity in the town, it is around an half an hour away from Chester and an hour from Manchester and Liverpool – perfect for commuting.
Community

Abergele Community Action is a community project that aims to empower the residents of the town and those who are (or who are at risk of becoming) excluded from mainstream social, economic, educational and digital opportunities. Offering free ICT services, a community foodbank and a number of different youth projects, the service prides itself on helping the community. The British Red Cross House offers services to residents such as befriending services for people in their own homes to help alleviate loneliness and social isolation, as well as a telephone support service and a community outreach programme.
Pensarn beach
There aren’t many places in North Wales where you are more than a few minutes’ drive away from a beach, and Abergele is no exception. Not only will you get away from the city in
Abergele, you will also be able to get away from Abergele! Take a stroll along Pensarn beach and its sandy dunes on your lunch break, or after work – it’s always good to rest your eyes and use your legs, especially if you are sitting down all day! Enjoy the fresh sea air!
Local
There’s plenty to see and do in and around Abergele – why not visit the nearby nature reserve or visit the ‘haunted’ Gwrych Castle. There are ghost walks, egg hunts and story times at the castle as well as activities such as creative writing classes. You can also take a walk through the Pentre Mawr Park where you will find a number of art sculptures, a pond, and biodiversity gardens. The park is just a short walk from the beach – so you can get your fill of the outdoors without going far!
Activities
North Wales is the adventure capital of the world and you won’t be short of things to do when working in Abergele. If you are looking for team building, or simply an afternoon of fun with your family or colleagues there is a number of adventure activities to get stuck into. Just down the road in St George you will find an adventure ground that features activities such as paintballing, a high ropes course, 4x4 Jeep Driving and SuperKarts. Abergele town is only a relatively short drive from Snowdonia where you will find adventure activities such as Europe’s longest zip wire and new Fforest Coaster, ‘Go Below’ underground trampolines and more tree top adventures.

The North Wales Business Park in Abergele is home to a number of different industries including Design, Print and Media, healthcare and Geosciences, offering a number of opportunities for a wide range of specialist work.
